marriage advertisement

hey so i just thought of starting this blog about my life n the crazy things i think about and try interpreting everyday of it. So being a girl from India when u reach a certain age your parents start to get all excited about "marriage" (so have mine). and since i don't have a boyfriend my parents have taken the task of looking for a boy in their own hands. I remember the days when my friends use to try fixing me up with guys and now my mom dad will be doing that... feels weird (that's an understatement). But here's a thought when they are going through all those matrimonial adds do they feel the same excitement that wego through while cruising profiles on social networking sites..ooooohhh he's got cool pics,nice profile, long list of friends, likes to party ... Here a sample of an advertisement i read in this Saturday's paper " exceptionally beautiful, vegetarian girl from reputed family for aggarwal CA handsome boy...." It may be just me but i think for every parent her daughter is exceptionally beautiful and reading such an add just makes me feel that we live in such a superfluous society where looks and caste have been given so much importance. It's sad but like i try and explain my thoughts on such modes of "meeting guys"( as i like to put it) to my parents i wish i had it a little bit easier which for me means having a boyfriend(though some of my friends who are in a relationship might have a different take on it) so much for 2day lets wait and see my next weird interpretation on life tom..
